Regular dental cleanings are imperative for the long term oral health of every patient. Even with consistent brushing and flossing habits, oral plaque and tartar can accumulate. Left unchecked, these accumulations can lead to gingivitis, periodontal disease, and can contribute to tooth loss and decay. Our hygienists will initially remove all plaque and tartar deposits and then polish all the exposed tooth surfaces.
Straighter teeth can help prevent gum disease, tooth decay, bone loss, and tooth loss. Furthermore, a well balanced smile can work wonders for someone’s self-confidence and productivity. Dr. bemis has been certified in the world famous Invisalign product since 2006 and has successfully helped nearly 100 patients to a straighter, healthier, more beautiful smile.
Teeth with large fillings, fractures, or root canals can be improved and strengthened by placing crowns or “caps” on them and missing teeth can usually be replaced with the properly planned placement of bridges. Dr. Bemis will meticulously study each crown/bridge case prior to operating, so that each case is done perfectly the first time.

More often than not, the best method of replacing missing or lost teeth is the placement and subsequent restoration of dental implants. Having worked side by side with an implant surgeon in New York City for six years, Dr. Bemis has garnered the experience and expertise to plan and restore many different edentulous scenarios.
Commonly known as “fillings”, “cavities”, or “bondings”, operative dentistry is the most conservative approach for restoring teeth compromised by fractures or tooth decay. Dr. Bemis is vastly experienced in the placement of composite (white) fillings and amalgam (silver) fillings.
After a thorough review of the patient’s full medical history, Dr. Bemis will inspect the teeth, tongue, throat and other oral structures for signs of pathology including cavities, tumors, and abnormalities.
New Leaf Family Dental can remove fractured teeth, endodontically treated teeth, severely decayed root tips, and other compromised teeth. Dr. Bemis takes pride in an non-traumatic outcome to these procedures and will do so in a patient and calming manner.
